Who We Are

Our Story

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. As a result, many parents cannot feed their children and afford to pay for their children’s education. Thus, The Lord placed a burden on our hearts to start a school (Ecole Primaire et Secondaire de Pecheur D’hommes), which would give the destitute an opportunity to go to school with the help of our sponsors.

Shortly after, Croisade Evangelique de Pecheurs D’Hommes (Church) was created to increase God’s kingdom by providing a Christian place of worship to the Lathan community members, which was badly needed. Through interactions with the church and the community, God has entrusted us with other humanitarian projects, which included the launching of the boys’ home in December of 2009 and a health clinic the following year. The school, church, clinic and boys’ home, located at #22, Ruelle à côté de G.S. Industries Lathan, LaPlaine, Port au Prince, Haiti (W,I.).

The organization was founded by Pastor Marc E Mareus and his wife, Gislene Mareus, who saw firsthand the plight of the underserved children in Haiti. They witnessed children sleeping in the streets, in cemeteries, in alleyways; children eating out of trash cans, children begging for stale bread to quiet their churning bellies, children stealing, children serving as preys to predators; children who no longer dreaming about better tomorrows; children who are candidates to be sold as slaves. In 2009, Roosevelt Mareus became the president of EHM. Roosevelt and Chrisandra Mareus (wife), board members and many others continue to travel to Haiti to help the Haitian people.
