Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, with 80 percent of the population living below the poverty line. In Haiti, 54 percent live in abject poverty. Two-thirds of children suffer from malnutrition and 1 out of 14 children die before reaching their fifth birthday. Most people live without adequate food, electricity, running water, education and medical care. To help with the aforementioned challenges, Elevate Haiti Ministries, Inc. (EHM) is having its 8th Annual Blessed to Bless fundraiser on November 12, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at the Diplomat Banquet Center, 1956 Lyell Avenue, Rochester, NY 14606. EHM is elevating lives and restoring hope in Lathan, Haiti, through our school, boys’ home, church, medical center and more. As you can see, we need your support to continue to help the poorest of the poor.
